Hi Wah, can you please tell us a little bit about yourself?

My name is Wah and I grew up in Venezuela and am now living in the SGV. Currently, I am working in the online media community where I can pursue my passion for shooting and directing photo and video content. When I’m not working, exploring local restaurants or are out with my dogs I spend my time at Silanoe Martial Arts.

What classes do you take and what got you interested?

With no prior martial arts experience, I decided to take action in doing something active for my health in my free time so I enrolled in the BJJ class at Silanoe Martial Arts.

How long have you been training and what is your current belt rank?

It has been a year since joining and I am currently a white belt with one stripe.

Ivan Giang is practicing his BJJ Hip Toss Throw technique on Wah Wu on the back mat at the Silanoe dojo in San Gabriel.
Wah is getting ready to breakfall being Ivan’s partner for hip throw technique.

Do you have a favorite Jiu-Jitsu or Muay Thai technique?

My favorite Jiu-Jitsu technique is the closed guard and I like to work my way from there.

What current and future goals do you have?

My current goal is to train as much as possible and hopefully get a blue belt in the future.

Is there anything else that you would like to share with us?

I love that everybody here makes me feel welcomed and that we all are here to learn more no matter what ranking or class we are in.
Again it’s an honor to be part of this and thank you and all the professors for everything.

Wah Wu decided to do something active to better his health. He loves the welcoming environment at Silanoe.

In Jiu-Jitsu everyone is equal as everyone is there to learn the art. All of this of course while having lots of fun. At our academy, it doesn’t matter what belt rank or social class you are in. Would you like to experience our unique environment? Please don’t hesitate and contact us in case you have any questions.
