Frequently Asked Questions(FAQ)
We try to be as transparent as possible at Silanoe Martial Arts but we understand that you could have more questions.
Please find most answers here below. Please do not hesitate to contact us in case you would like more information. We are happy to assist you.
Can I try out before signing up?
-Yes definitely, we want to make sure our members are confident that they have made the right choice. That is the reason why we offer a risk-free trial.
I have never been in a gym before, will someone show me what to do on my first visit?
-Yes, someone will be able to assist you with your questions and in some cases, you will be paired up with a more advanced student. Also, we will have Muay Thai or Jiu-Jitsu gear you can borrow for your first visit in case you don’t have it.
How do I become a member of Silanoe Martial Arts?
-Just come by our studio at 556 W. Las Tunas Dr. San Gabriel, CA 91107. Sign up will only take about 5 minutes.
Why are you less expensive than other Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai studios in the area?
-We recently opened our gym and we like to reward members that help us build it. To show our appreciation our rates are lower than most gyms in the area and members that sign up early can take advantage of that.
But is the quality of instruction on par with the other more expensive gyms in the area?
-No, we like to claim it is better. Professor Gino takes great pride in his art. His students like to go to competitions to test themselves and most of the time come out on top. We have world champion students at our gym.
We understand that not everyone takes our word for it, that is why we are grateful to see our students sharing their experiences on Yelp, Google, Yahoo, and Facebook.
How intense are the classes? Do your classes involve sparring?
Our classes are adapted to the skill and fitness level of our students. Everyone is encouraged to spar, however, this will always be up to the student and depending on the individual overall fitness level and skill.
Will I get hurt or bruised taking Kickboxing/Muay Thai or Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu?
-There are no guarantees in life but from our experience, our students rarely have injuries that prevent them from training. Depending on how easily one bruises, this can occur from time to time.
We have classes that are often focused on the beginner martial artist one with less than 1 year of experience which is less intense than some of the more advanced classes. Some of our classes have a good mix of beginner and advance and the instructor will always differentiate based on the level of the students attending.
How can I cancel my membership?
-Even though we hope you will keep on training long after getting your Black Belt but in case you have to cancel before that time we have made canceling easy.
Just come to our studio and fill out our cancellation form or send us a registered or certified mail. That way it is ensured you will get a receipt that your cancellation was received.
What if it is within the contract?
-We understand that people’s lives change that is why we think it is reasonable to give the option to cancel at all times if the member has to relocate 25 miles from Silanoe Martial Arts, there is a medical reason that your doctor does not deem you capable to train for at least 6 months or if you lose your job.
How much is parking?
-Parking is free. We have a large parking lot in the rear. You can enter using Las Tunas Dr. in between Shoe Repair and the Pharmacy head east on Las Tunas Dr. or you can enter using Alanmay Ave. located next to the Fortune Bakery.
