Hi Jimmy, please tell us a little bit about yourself.

I've lived in San Gabriel since elementary school. I went to San Gabriel High School and UCLA. I'm currently a Sales Director at a large IT Services Firm. I've got two kids also taking Jiu-Jitsu at Silanoe. Trying to get my wife who I met in elementary school to join too. Our family loves to travel and to stay active. We are currently getting the kids to snowboard. I've spent lots of time staying active by playing basketball, volleyball, rock climbing, lifting, paintball, etc......Jiu-Jitsu is the new vice. I just wish I started earlier and could come more often but injuries suck.

What classes do you take and what got you interested?

Whichever class I can get to but currently Tuesday, Thursday and maybe Saturday the Adult All Levels Jiu-Jitsu class.

How long have you been training and what is your current belt rank?

I think I have been training over a year and half. I am currently a white belt with 3 stripes.

What is your favorite part of the Jiu-Jitsu class?

Getting beat up by Mike (Delgado).

Do you have a favorite Jiu-Jitsu technique?

My favorite technique is the Scissor Sweep

You have had a few prior injuries before doing Jiu-Jitsu, what are they exactly and how have you managed them while training?

I stretch for 10-20 min. prior to coming. I use CBD oil when needed. I make sure to tap early. Mostly, just listening to my body, limiting myself, or taking extended breaks when needed.

What current and future goals do you have?

Not to get beat up by Mike (Delgado).

Is there anything else that you would like to share with us?

Even if you are injured you can come in and learn the technique. You don't always need to spar/roll.

Gotten excited about giving Jiu-Jitsu a try?

That is some good advice from Jimmy about how to deal with previous injuries. We fully agree with him. It is important to be consistent if you want to improve your Jiu-Jitsu while managing taking time off. Want to see what Jiu-Jitsu is about?
